plus what's going on with the beak? it looks like you gave him a mustache where his beak should be. The beak looks extremely low, although i may just be unfamiliar with the kind of owl you're trying to portray. |

The beak is a little low, but I think the bigger problem is that the eyes are a bit too far apart. I hate the color on the beak as well, I think it'd serve you better if you texturized it in the black as with the shading in the feathers.
The balance in the top of the trunk is a little off, a little more 'star' splatter in the upper left corner might help. I think I'd feel better about the boxiness if you centered the design as well. Solid four for a beautiful concept. |

I'm not quite sure how I feel about the rest... the art is beautiful but I don't understand the purpose of the stump, maybe it's just something I'm not getting? |
