As Matthew Dear's song had few lyrics, I derived my idea from the word mourning. I incorporated a dying/wilting flower and an abstract brain to relate to emotional struggles, acceptance, etc.

I didn't recognize the white shape as a wilting flower until I read your explanation. I'd perhaps connect it a little more to the stem and/or clean up the shape a little bit. I love your brain design and line work. Beautiful design and great colors! I like the placement on the green shirt as well, but like all of the color options with brown as my favorite.

Green is the color of mourning in some eastern countries, and also in Dune, so kudos. I like it.

ah! now i get it - a flower! you might want to work on that - apart from that its nice. i'd go for the chest/side placement.
