This design just employs good ol' regular screenprinting process...

The theme, a quasi-formal portrait of a manticore and its mistress. Instead of a lion's mane, I opted on putting a powdered wig on him since he is domesticated and all that. He is basically docile enough to smile for a portrait and genteel enough to not show his three rows of teeth.

i like it, but it needs something. i just don't know what that something is =/ i say 4 for the art, though

only four colors are allowed i believe

You have too many colors, but let me tell you how GREAT this concept is. You'll easily be able to cull down the pallet down, but-oh-man, I can barely count the number of people I know with two hands who would be all about this as a shirt.

Oh guys... thanks so much for the input. This is my first design because procrastination gets the better of me. I've been wanting to do this for ages. I figured I'd use a manticore. It doesn't get represetned as much as unicorns, mermaids and uhmmm... gay republicans do.

What is with the dripping tail?

The tail is a a stinger, so probably dripping venom?

That it is :-) A manticore is a mythical creature although I could've sworn I've seen one on my trip to Jakarta. It's fantastical horrific features included a man's face, a lion's body, a scorpion's tail and in some versions, the tail could be a spiny brush and it can shoot off it's spines to unsuspecting jungle hunter or napper, whatever your agenda for being in a jungle...

Oh and yes, it is venom. Sorry for the dissertation.

Cordelia reminds me of the female character (I've forgotten her name) on Steam Boy. This is a lovely illustration with fantastic colors.

i'd like it if the lion was just a lion. to weird and creepy this way.
