About my design

by pl4tine
This is a very personnal design about my point of view on life, inspired by "La Parabole des Talents" (biblical text, tough i'm agnostic) it means that there are very precise moments in life at which things must be done otherwise they'll never be.

I'm pretty sure that once you die, your mental abilities go to zero.

Possibility of doing something meaningful equals checkmark? And your parabolic trend doesn't make sense with the kid being shorter than the buggy.

i think the graph is about time against mental abilities , not the height

I like..

Top idea. Cross needs detail to make it more obviously a tombstone even if you don't want the trad shape tombstone.

Ditto Avarice's suggestion re checkmark replacement

Does the wording "mental abilities" need to be there? Really everything goes in that arc; physical strength, synapses, attention sp

oh, take that back, otherwise poeple would confuse mental power for height.

Hell, I did the math -- I have exactly 8 1/2 years left to do something meaningful. I better stop screwing around playing Threadless!

I don't like the assumption that older people can't do as much that is meaningful as younger people. It depends.

I think instead of a carriage it should be a baby crawling. and lose the grave at the end. Doesn't make sense.

those orange lines don't seem to mean anything

Some peoples' deaths are part of their most meaningful activities.

Examples : Jesus Christ's crucifixion, soldiers dying for

their country in a righteous cause, a husband defending

his family, and police and firefighters saving victims.

So the possibility to do something meaningful is always

high no matter how old you are.

children and senior citizens still have the capability to do meaningful things. So I agree with helo and poohbearmama. however, I must give you a $5 because it is just so beautiful.

I agree with the crowd on the issue of not being able to do something meaningful except in the span between 20 and 60 (approximately)...This actually made my stomach do an uncomfortable flip. There is much wisdom in the waning years that needs to be passed to the "functional" years...We already have too much ageism in this country, and the message here just leans too much toward "bummer"...sorry...interesting concept though...and the art is nice...

Like many, I believe that each part of my life span is significant.

But that has no impact on my fondness of this design.

It seems to me to be about the importance of not waiting until you are "older and wiser", you know, or just putting things off at all. Right NOW, you have the possibility of doing something meaningful. Get out there and do it.

That's what it says to me.

That baby COULD be in a highchair...

Really cool idea... I like all the physicsy stuff going on. I agree though: the toddler doesn't really fit the arc, but doomsdayblaze's idea of putting him in a highchair is a good idea... or you can ditch the buggy and just make a little baby on the ground crawling or something. I think it would look best if you showed all the people without accessories (with exception to the gravestone). Maybe add some random equasions in there to make it more interesting too. Cool idea though.
