the original idea for this dropped into my head while watching 'samurai jack', there's a scene where he's walking through a room filled with candles. i saw a cityscape in the candles & did a rough sketch or two.

later i realized it reminded me of the mc 900 ft. jesus song 'the city sleeps', then i had my title. unlike the song this picture's not about arson, it's just a bit of imagination.

Yeah the shadows/reflections/whatever really make the design, don't ditch them for anyone. I think the transition between the buildings in the background and the building candles in the foreground could be smother and I'm not certain about the waves at the base but it's still a really nice design.
