Meh -- it's bland all around. At least add some dimensionality to the design and put the words in the tile holder.

I like that its simple, but I wish you would have use the scrabble font instead

I agree with all of the above. Letters are misaligned. I like the idea... Just needs more work.

I like it. More dimensions would be nice. And there's already a scrabble shirt, but there's always room for more :D

Hi, Thanks for the input. in response to the comments. This is the scrabble font used in the UK, Australia and NZ, I didn't realize it was different in the US. Also, the letters are misaligned because that's how they are printed, after all the image is made of a scan from the actual tiles in my set. And yeah, the 'O' is smaller than the others, weird aye?

What if you add more of the scrabble board around the letter panels?

I agree with everyone else as well.

I appreciate the attention to accuracy with the scans but since the fact isn't conveyed in the design it just looks off - all of the above sounds great.

I wonder what it would look like if made to look like they were laying on a board looking at it from above at an angle with just black lines to give the idea of a board under it - and some dimension to the tiles.

I think it's great! It's simple and clean. Adding a scrabbble board would just clutter it up. And I'm from NZ, and this is excatly what our scrabble set looks like. Word!

Thanks Guys, The scrabble board idea isn't really a good fit with the concept of the shirt. It's more about the word 'word' than it is about scrabble. It's about having a t-shirt that says something on it, and why we feel the need to do this. And if all it needs is a word on it, why not that 'word'. Also it works on a lower level, in that 'word' is used as a greeting, response to a statement or even used as punctuation . The scrabble tiles are just a recognizable medium to use to depict the subject. shame i didn't get these comment when i put it up for critique as they are all very useful and valuable suggestions

The letter corresponding with the D is distorted or something. I can't really read what it is.

H0TH W0MPA on Nov 08 '07
Yeah, that's a 2, they tend to do that. you should see the 4 under one of my 'F' tiles, looks more like a 1. Trick for young players.

If this shirt really does badly, i'll redesign it with US scrabble tiles, apparently they are completely different

Midnighteskye on Nov 08 '07
Yeah US scrabble tiles are different but if someone doesn't get it they are really dumb. $5 I like it. I love Scrabble and my husband says word all the time!

Fun idea. I'd like to see a different take on it--more 3-dimensional with wood grain, etc.
greyshape
greyshape on Nov 08 '07
It's simple and effective - adding additional detail of board/tile holder/ wood grain would detract from it, as it's clearly scrabble already. I love the fact that it's not another design based on a pun - almost an anti-pun really. Good work.

keep it simple, but make them accurate Scrabble tiles (font, sizing, etc) and put it on a ridiculously cool color (i.e. something loud) and I'll buy it.

I'm a little disappointed. Maybe it's just at my high school, but we say "word" a lot in a different way. It means "I agree" and "well spoken, mate". I thought that's what you meant. Still cool, though. And I could pretend thats what you meant.

Wicked design. Who actually has wooden scrabble tiles anyway?

I would like it to say "word up" so I could wear it with my red codpiece.

I really like it as-is, and I am very picky when it comes to my T-shirts. Nice job .

I like the simplistic and fun usage of the word WORD in this case, i only wish it was in the scrabble font and a bit better rendered. Fun idea tho!

Point of interest for anyone who cares, the set i used is the same type of set they used in the Scrabble World champs, won by a New Zealander
