For years, coal miners brought caged canaries deep into mine shafts to serve as early detection against deadly carbon monoxide or methane gas. If the canary stopped singing and died, the miners would rush to exit the shaft.

I decided to take a happy and friendly approach to this subject matter with my design. Check out the detail in a larger image here:

Funny stuff, and might be even funnier with a bunch of coal miners squashed all in a canary cage in the left corner. Still great and understandable as is tho.

This is impossible. They don't make coalminer's equipment that small, unless your porportion on the bird is off. Amatuer!
