I think that IS Jesus. I've seen the statue in Portugal, but can't remember where in Brazil the other one is.
Lovely design, and I appreciate the thought that went into it. |

we've got no time for drinkin’ beer
we took a walk around this afternoon
and a year had gone away
you're all that I've got
this planet's small enough for two
take whatever you want
I won't forget to remember I know you
you're all that I've got
this town ain't good enough for you
take whatever you want
I won't forget to remember I know you
When I heard the song and saw these lyrics, it reminded me of my time in Rio de Janeiro.
I've been there several times. It's an awesome city, but it also has its downsides.
I saw many favelas. Favelas are constructed from a variety of materials, ranging from bricks to garbage.
Many favelas are very close and very cramped. They are plagued by sewage, crime and hygiene problems.
But it also looks very impressive. In a sad way I might wanna say... it's beautifull.
The name 'favela' originates from a plant with thorny leaves.
The text 'Palavras Repetidas' means repeated words, and it stands for the different families that live in those little houses in the favela.
Nobody does something about the situation, so the words linger on - like a pattern, like the favela.
