About my design

by lilsip
I saw a panda doing this awkward backing-up handstand thingie on a BBC program. Apparently the males compete to see who can pee the highest. It was hilarious and I thought it might make a cool tee.

Dogs do that too sometimes. I don't think I like pee shirts much better than poop shirts, though. The text is probably required for most people to know what is going on.

Technically the panda isn't peeing just yet, he's just trying to get his hind end as high up the tree as possible. That's what I saw on the show, and what made me laugh. Hence the no actual pee. I know the tail looks a bit like a peepee but it was meant to be a tail.

isn't this a little naive?

Hey, naive comes with the territory when you deal with a 1 year old and a 3 year old 24-7.

the image is rather nice. it just doesn't work for me though. sorry... pee pose plus grace and muted colors. meh. 1.

It's funny-cute, but I wouldn't wear it.

I like it. it's subtle, funny, factual, and the image is balanced. question...are the kanji significant, or were they picked at random? would be a funny inside to have the kanji be soemthing like "golden prize"

They mean "panda" according to about.com. No big surprises or hidden meanings there; I just think they are beautiful.

(not because of my own skill but because of the beauty of the Chinese alphabet)

Just a little grammar nitpick: the panda emerges from ITS solitude to leave HIS mark? Should be HIS both times. I love the colors and the kanji and the panda. As a biologist, the use of urine to mark territory doesn't bother me, and I know plenty of people who would be happy to wear this.

Thanx ken, mustard, and valar! I'm currently working on the next sub in my panda series, "Just a Chill Panda." (thanks for the idea, pearl!)

Your could just shorten it to: "The reclusive panda emerges to leave his mark higher than any competitors"
