I nearly scored this without looking @ it properly ( not that I would have scored it lowly anyway ). Superb. Truly

love how clean the design is, and the angle of the trees, pretty much everything about this :)

why apples in the tree? Might work better if it's cherry blossom - more Japanese

Apples in the tree pretty much for the same reason a geisha is eating pizza. This obviously isn't ancient Japan, or even pre-war Japan, at least not in my mind... it's just your run-of-the-mill modern day geisha on her lunchbreak.

Odd shirt model. Odd idea. Odd everything about this. But somehow it all fits together quite nicely in a way that's pleasing and fulfilling. Hence the magic of far-out ideas getting it right.

Oh, but i'd still like a little ore detail on the tree.

I love the design: the Geisha's face, the flow, the colors. However, I had no idea what she was eating until I read the comments. Perhaps make it more pizza-y?

hmm... interesting point. It had not occurred to me but I will modify accordingly

fantastic design. Loose the flash.

I wouldn't change the pizza. I don't know how you couldn't tell - especially with the pizza box on her lap.

I like the pizza as is. The rest of the design is so clean I think it would be too much detail on the pizza.

What color is that green and why don't they ever use it?

i wish it would quit jumping around, but i love the linework.

How about some pepperoni on the pizza? Doesn't really 'read' as a pizza slice right off the bat.

Yeah, the pizza needs a bit more detail. mushrooms, olives, whatever.

bawdyparts on Oct 18 '07
haha, that's funny, I went back in last night and added just those: mushrooms and olives.... but then I took them off again this morning. I just didn't feel like they added anything. I did refine the lines a bit. Now I think I'm done, though, it's time to move on to other art.

this is great! hahahaha. and i disagree about losing the flash. u gotta see the closeup, and its way better than trying to cram everything into the frame in one shot. if i could use flash, i would do this. it does change a lil' fast for me tho...

I like it, but agreed --had no idea it was pizza until I read the comments--looks octopussy(can i say that?) the way it squiggles and splits into two--And perhaps, because the gif is changing so quickly and because of my pizza ignorance, I couldnt figure out that was a pizza box-In that glimpse, it appeared to be behind her and I couldnt understand what the strange angular thing was--Due to coloration and position of it, I was assuming it was part of the stylized tree base....Maybe, its just me...or maybe its just 'flashing' too fast...or maybe theres some subjectivity involved...
