About my design

by t88
i think there is a link embeded in the swf file. it's annoying - plz dont take ur frustration out on the actual design :)

if there is any better programs people can suggest to convert my images into swf then i'm all ears!

btw, hope you like the image :)

nice, I want a fish in a light bulb! doesn't seem terribly safe, however...

maybe fix the water line at the top and make the water a little less blue, i can see this working great with a rich orange/gold fish and lighter blue water, I suppose to make a fish in a lightglobe more... realistic? Rocks.

thanks for the support guys!

i've realised that there is a weird colour combo on the fish - which sucks, cuz my monitor shows it up as orange and yellow. but tweaking colours is pretty easy if it's needed :)

I think it's a really really cool idea, but the execution could be better. It just needs to be fine-tuned a little. The bulb mainly.

It's the water line, as mentioned, that kills it for me, but I'm into the concept.

the idea is great, the design is great, but the colors need to be more muted, i think

I'm not sure I like how big it is, but other than that I love it.

Fish + Bulb = Homer Simpson. That's what it reminded me of, at least.

Nobody has really clarified about what's wrong with the waterline. Basically, the waterline should be even with the horizon line since water finds a level when possible. The only way it's off level is if it's in motion, frozen and tilted or in space. As it is, it's tilting up to the left. To see what I mean, fill a clear glass halfway, then tilt it as your light bulb is tilted and then look at it. Also the dotted line for the far side of the water isn't necessary. And the end of your light bulb shouldn't be flat. As it is it looks more like a black soda bottle cap.

Ffs. That picture of "fish bulb" from deviantart is better than my one! I wouldn't copy something and make it worse... If i had seen that pic, and i still wanted to make my design then i would have added a plant cuz i think it looks cool. And for the record i only thought of a title for this when i finally submitted the picture.

I think i should have made the bulb look more 3d, even though the end isn't flat - it's hard to see on this resolution, that it is indeed rounded. Also, i didn't want the water line to be horizontal, because i wanted to give a slight illusion that the globe is falling (which is why it's on an angle) - although that idea hasn't really gotten accross very well.

Also, with the dotted line, whenever i took it out it just didn't look right. I wanted to do a faded line, but i didn't have enough colours left.

thanks for all the comments so far :)

I think the bulb should be more realistic, and maybe oriented vertically, with the socket facing down. The water should be more transparent, and the fish should have more color. It would be cool to do the fish in glow ink, and maybe with light rays coming out in all directions.

i thought the fish was a frog for a second. definitely needs tweaking but love it none the less. i think you should submit it as a crituqe if it doesn't make it. good luck anyhow.

the fish looks dead. :(

this idea came from The Simpsons didn't it... "There's your answer fish bulb!" when Homer looks like Mr.Sparkle

nah.. it didn't come from the simpsons. i've seen that episode, but can't remember that quote!

i was just thinking of stuff i could do with a lightbulb, thought it would look cool with a fish in it, and quite a simple design to play with too - seeing as it was a first submission :)

I like the design, but not the colours or the placement. But you've heard this already. Otherwise, great work! =)

I think this idea is overdone. I know Deviant Art was linked above, but just to show how often it has been done:

I like it. Nice work. I don't think it is overdone.

I disagree with the one above.

So good job.
