As for drawing techniques, I'm not actually all that consistent. Often times I'll get an idea, and I'll start sketching it out on paper before drawing it out on the computer, but sometimes I just draw from scratch on flash. Everything I draw is just with the paintbrush tool in flash. I just get an outline going, then start shading with some form of sloppy cross-hatching. I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're asking... But that's the best answer I can give. I guess it doesn't sound all that amazing when you actually hear it. :O |

igo2cairo on Oct 09 '07 Dude, listen to the masses. I've told you this before - you're an amazing illustrator and you should be working on a children's book! Your style is perfectly suited to it. Get yourself a literary agent and a list of publishers and start sending some of stuff out - a story book about the polite but not-so-bright Arthur would be an instant hit! I'm not sure I would wear this, but I'd buy it anyway and get it framed.

I feel that I have to jump in here and tell you how much I adore your style. I love the rough edges and texture, not to mention you pick WONDERFUL and very eye pleasing colors. You are obviously very talented! I think this is my favorite of your subs so far and the little mini poem made it all the better. I am sure it is just a matter of time before you get one printed.

Anywho, i LOVE the concepts you are starting to put out there! this one is ace, i'd just like to see the top part of the fire hydrant accented a little bit so it draws more instant attention to itself. Other than that, really good as usual. oh, and i don't think i've seen anyone say i before...but your stuff looks like ace material for children's books. I know it's a radical idea, but go with me on this. |
