I LOVE the idea. I just with the illustration itself was more detailed..

I still use that when I'm trying to figure out which sign is less than and which is greater than...thats awesome...

same thing i had to say in critiques i think the illustration, especially the alligator, needs some refinement. and the cattails are distracting from the 21. i love the concept, think it still needs some tweaks before i'd put it on (operative concept being i would put it on!)

HAHA! I forgot about that! I love elementary math.

i remember being taught this method in school, but it didn't really work for me, i guess because i though that the big number should be eating the small number, even though you are supposed to consider the sign as its own seperate entity.

instead i have always thought about the shape of the sign, with the bigger height of the sign being beside the bigger number. not as interesting as a gator, but it works for me.

anyway, the shirt is a nice idea, although it seems like it needs a bit more work to make it more visually interesting.

Have you considered making it a little more 2-dimensional so tha both the 21 and the 47 stand out? Also what about exaggerating the size of the head and the angle of the open mouth slightly to make it vaguely resemble a greater than sign. I'd definitely pay a full $15 for the concept if the presentation were cleaner.

i like it, but wish the 47 were smaller and darker, think the idea would've come across better that way too. maybe just me. like the alligator though, and keep the cattails.

this is such a good idea! When I got into high school they wouldn't let us call it an alligator anymore! This would show those evil math teachers!

It was inspired by
"I won't forget to remember I know you", reminiscing on old math lessons.

I like the idea (and the cattails) but think it needs some more work. Consider the suggestions given above. In particular: details on alligator (bigger mouth!) and your smaller number needs to be as visible as the bigger number in your total design (same color as cattails makes it fade into background). Have you considered the significance of your numbers?
