i know you did red because it's a red crowned crane but it looks kind of emo with black and red. but the birds are very pretty.

I agree that the black and red combination carries some connotations that detract from the subtleness of this design; perhaps a different t-shirt back color; (i dunno maybe creme, or that classic Japanese grey-blue). Beautiful, by the way. 5$!

My vote is for the red/black and with the spray. How might it look if you gave each crane a small spray effect as well? Some of those lines feel a little contrasty to me...

About my design
I did a 2nd version with a spray effect around the red border. You can check that out as well as a close up of the version without it through my profile. I can't decide which version i like best, so i will let you all decide.
