there's a myth about kali where she defeats a demon and it's horde by drinking the demon's blood & devouring a slew of other demons. she's somehow associated with eating the dead on battlegrounds, i think, and is generally known as a dark goddess, replete with a garland of skulls...

err, anyway. about the design. the disjointed starburst pattern in the background is sorta odd, maybe it would look better if it were just a solid starburst. the silhouette seems awkward in the midsection, but the arms and legs look good. not a bad design overall. the choice of colors is great.
