About my design

by divisionline
This is an homage to all the video games I've ever played, from Choplifter to Halo, and everything in-between. I've drawn in something like 250+ separate elements from what has been a significant part of my gaming experience: Blinky of Pacman fame, 1ups, mushrooms, Sentinels, even the bubble blocks from Bubble Bobble- see what you can find! And, true to life: There is no reset.

keep the drawing, throw the rest

pitch the background and the cable...or make the cable much smaller and make the whole thing larger to fill the shirt and we can see your sick detail... good job otherwise man

take care of those and you got a $5 from me.

did you intend for it to look like a Katamari?

Can we have link to some detail? I want to take some time and check that out. That much effort deserves it.

here's a close up. apologies for the crappy black background- gif conversion did something weird. but the drawing itself is dead on.

Needs more color in the drawing -- it's hard to make anything out.

btw pl4tine and embryo, thanks for the feedback, i completely agree with taking the background out and putting more attention to the drawing. good eye(s).

I'd love to see a color version, sans plug. Detail is awesome though.

I feel like this should be a poster or an album cover... not sure about it as a tee.

If the detail is bigger, it would be better.

yea man.. enlarge that masterpiece "plethora" of gaming homage so people walking past us when we wear your shirt (hoping it wins) can see the indiv. detail and notice games they once played too

I'm not completely sure, but I don't think you can make changes to this submission. You could make some changes and resubmit this, but the changes would have to be fairly substantial. Threadless doesn't really want too many designs coming back through voting (check out "submit ideas" page), and often things that haven't been changed much wont do so well in voting anyway. But I've seen a number of recycled designs with fewer changes than the ones recommended here, so I think you'd get away with it.

yeah, i read the bit about duplication, didn't want to overdo it. but, only one way to find out, eh? thanks, emem.

I love the shirt - did you hand draw it?
divisionline
divisionline on Sep 30 '07
yup, aside from the background clouds, it's all hand drawn. glad you like it! i hope to put out a few more designs like it soon...

All that fine linework is just going to get lost - it's difficult to see what's going on even in your preview, so on a shirt it really will just look like a blob to most people. Definitely add some colour to it, to make bits stand out more.

I like the cord, not the background, AWESOME illustration.

I will give it a 4 for the illustration because it's so awesome. Though I don't know how well the detail will be appreciated on a t-shirt from a 2-4 feet away because the lines are so condensed.

Personally, I'd like to see a colored version and used so that many of the objects stand out more. :)
