thanks for the comments. I didn't want to make them too dark because you would lose the detail. The markings on the wings and tail are distinctly magpie though.

The magpies I've seen have white bodies with black/blue tails and wings. But those were in Sweden. Perhaps they are different where the artist lives? Otherwise, interesting; love the white loafers.

I like the white loafers, too. Magpies can have black or white bellies. I just like the contrast between the design on the wing and the rest of the bird.
