If 90% of the people here see spunk, then 90% of the people on the street will see spunk. If some of you guys don't mind walking around with something that could easily be interpreted as spunk on their shirt, good for you, but for me and most of the people commenting here, I would be uncomfertable with having to explain to my mom that it's just white water or milk or whatever that is on my shirt.

Although I agree that the trunk doesn't look at all like a penis (not mine, anyway) the water needs to look more like water, but personnaly I think that the water needs to be completely removed, or the trunk shaped differently, because when elephants blow out water, they usualy have their trunk up.

Now, Roadkill3d, if you don't like constructive comments and think your designs are all perfect as is and don't need any modification or deserve any cristicisim, then I will have to agree with what Cityauctor says.

I love how some folks here don't seem to get that just because someone thinks something looks like a cock, they don't necessarily think it IS a cock. It's obviously the elephants trunk. We all know it's actually an elongated nose. However, it still looks like a cock. What was intended to be water looks like semen on the end of said cock.

Roadkill. You're an artist. That's nice. Don't get too hung up on your designs, though, please. Your entire attitude makes you seem like a prima donna - you've had a load of people say if you modified it slightly, they would, for sure, buy this. It's a simple change which would result in much higher sales, a fact which should matter to you if you ever plan on going independant.

aesthetically... spunk or not... the splat of white clashes with the very beautiful and sophisticated illustration of the elephant... it just doesn't fit.

He he this is to stupid. I am 47 , and it is many years ago since I had to explain to my mom (ore anyone else for that matter) what's on my t-shirt. Just to show this place is full of kids with no experience to back up any constructive criticism, what so ever.

That is how I know this place is crawling with kids.
Don't get me wrong, I love children. And I have two my self, one 27 years and the other 16 years old.
But at 17 -19 you hardly have the knowledge ore experience to suggest to a obviously experienced designer what does and what does not work in a picture.

I don't get why people have trouble where a penis around on their shirt. I dunno, I HAVE a penis and it has never bothered me too much before. No one cares that Michelangelo's David (or endless other pieces of art, for that matter) contains nudity. But I suppose that is because someone else, a certified art expert, told you it was ok. Everyone needs to stop letting society decide their opinions. Also, saying LESS SPLOOGE PLZXTHKS is not constructive criticism. It is just you being pissed because someone was so bold as to think that maybe everyone wasn't a mindless idiot that couldn't make decisions on what looks good without the crutch of society. This is a great design and deffinately well executed, except for the penis, which is pretty weird. Roadkill you deffinately have skill, but a design like this on threadless will obviously get some attention, and not in a good way. If you are quite the designer extraordinare as Posn makes you out to be, why don't you print and sell your own shirts at your own discretion? You obviously have talent, so you'll obviously go somewhere - so, instead of putting it on threadless, where it is all or nothing, why don't you just do it yourself?

My first thought was "that elephant doesn't swallow, she spits!" but then the other part of my brain reminded me that the trunk is a nose, not a mouth, and that I had given a whole new meaning to the phrase "nose job."

This really is a wonderful design, and though I completely respect your decision in not wanting to change anything I have to agree with the majority of the people posting here. True, this is a form of art, and the objective is to create an emotional reaction, however this is also a product you are attempting to market. If your target demographic is telling you they'd buy except for that one issue, it's something you should seriously consider. Unless of course you don't want to sell this idea, but then Threadless may not be the right place for you to be submitting art.

Also - to say you don't design for the masses is crap. Threadless isn't an art forum. It's entirely based on the eventual retailing of your designs/ideas. While the art is generally more thought out than most mass-market art, it's still product development.

It's a great design, but you can't try a sneak something so obvious (especially the way you highlighted it in presentation) and expect no one to notice.

Frankly, this design is actually a bit boring without the trunk spunk. I'm glad you have it in there to add a little controversy to the design. Obviously you'll rub a few people the wrong way with it, but it's your choice as the artist to include it. I'm glad you stuck to your guns. Just don't appologize for it, and don't say it's supposed to be "water", come on now. We are mostly all adults, except the 13 year olds who come here. We all know what this is supposed to represent, and that's fantastic!

The best thing about this great design, is all the communication it spawned...incredible. Just look at all the comments.
What score it gets, is beside the point. Points can never decide what is good art ore not, and this is great art because it made us interact with each other.....that's the whole point.
