There are similarities and of course I love the song, but it was not the inspiration for the artwork.

I like the color hues the way they are. Does NOT need more contrast. I would probably buy a lot more threadless shirts if there were more monochromish ones and less head turning high contrast ones. Some of us like to be more subtle.

This sketch has been in various stages of design since long before the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny was created.

One thing to note is that tUSoUD makes use of highly recognized figures in film, comics, and television, while these are generic characters drawn with far better skill and care.

And the idea of cross-fiction melee mayhem has been around long before tUSoUD.

Contrast can be sorted out by Threadless surely. If they feel it needs tweeking slightly in order to improve clarity then they'll just get on with it I would have thought.

The outlines are really hard to distinguish.

In response to the lack of contrast... that was a conscious decision. Since there is SO much going on and this is suppose to go on a shirt, I didn't want it to pop TOO much and look too busy. As an illustration more contrast would work though. Check out the DETAIL!

Seeing as this design is ranked #5 of Most Watchers in the Critiques section and has received nothing but enthusiasm from the comments, I'm a bit stunned at a "2.59." Maybe threadless will look beyond just the score and see how much you people really want this shirt! Thanks again everyone!
