There's an idea in here somewhere, I just don't really get it. It's a bit obfuscated, conceptually. Rendition is competent tho.

I like the idea, and the fact that there is text doesn't bother me here- I just hate what the text says! The phrase "southern hillbillies" isn't really clever, so it's a mismatch with the fun style present on the rest of the shirt.

I don't think the point of the shirt was the song but more the fact that there is a giant vinyl log they are cutting the record out of. I could be wrong

Come on. I don't get the purpose of this. I don't fully dig how these are drawn either. Almost like that traced graphic design look, but feels kinda off. If I got it maybe it wouldn't matter.

i think it's what Sniper Time says, they're cutting a record. it's an old phrase, not everyone's gonna get it. design's fairly well done though, i personally like the concept and image.

The concept might work better if it was just a couple of guys cutting the record, without the advertisement quality of this. It'd probably appeal to more people if left open to interpretation a little more. I really like the idea, though.

Should be "Freebird" on that record instead.

Added: I still love it. And I got it right away.

I hate to be a stickler on technicalities, but why 1833? Recorded sound didn't appear until well into the second half of the 19th century...
