This portrayal of interspecies harmony is cute, but not mindlessly so. The design isn't static. The bird is making up its mind about this bat. It's three against one. Things could get real ugly. Black would probably work best as a background.

um, no, kciibe, that's not the point. you don't rip off someone else's work, period. there are plenty of T sites that support & embrace plagiarism, you should check them out, I'm sure you'll love them. it's a good thing you don't actually sub any designs, you might feel a little different about it.

I developed the theme of SINGULARITY according to my thoughts, in a way that seems cute and nice to me and that's what came out of that. Period.

I believe you my good man. This idea is something i can see people having done before, but i really like your execution of it. The colors on charcoal, the original big verison of it, would look the best.

The redundant comments on this design are unnecessary and asinine. The images are hardly alike and the bat/bird connection isn't an uncommon or farfetched one. Anyone who's seen or read can make the connection.

Intentionally ripping off someone's art is not cool -- but I don't think that's happened here. Sorry, but birds on a line are such a common idea and it's not much of a stretch to see a design like this, completely apart from seeing it somewhere else.
Plus, it's clearly done in this artist's own style... and quite honestly, there're lots of parodies on popular characters on here and other places... if they're from the artist's own hand, there's not much anyone can do about it...

all in all it's a cute design 4.

$5. This is lovely and reminded me of the story of Stellaluna (a little fruit bat who gets lost and lives with birds for awhile). The story is all about seeing similarities in beings different from oneself, and I loved that this shirt reminded me of it. Charcoal is probably the only color I would buy it on.

The bemused bird's countenance speaks for itself, so perhaps the question mark is not needed, but I don't think that it detracts hugely from the design.

hmmmm...it is VERY like that picture...but i'm sure you haven't ripped it off, and even if you have, it's a good tee. Wouldn't buy it with those background colours though. Maybe Dakota Slate?

If Angela Sartorato think it's a rip off, then she can argue for herself, she doesn't need little threadless minions hating on designers for her. So back off and let Miss Sartorato decide, and keep it between her and Giulia.

I think it's a lovely design and I am glad to see it's been printed, the style is very much Giulia's and she should be very happy.

I would like to see these people claiming this is a rip PROVE to us that the artist intentionally referenced that devArt piece when making this sub.

This concept was in November's design annual. Anyone who works in a graphic design job can pull this off of the shelf and see it. 110% ripoff. The Deviant Art is a ripoff too. They all ripped it off of a notionally award winning piece that is prominently featured on the company's business cards, envelopes and letterheads. It's not that they took the idea that's amazing to me, it's that the took an idea that common and that widely viewed by people who know something about design.

As for positive comments, I like the colors you chose and the illustration is pretty decent.

Every time I see a comment like the last one here I feel like I've just seen an UFO.
My design is such a common, simple and stereotype one that I cannot believe that someone can think that it needs to be ripped off from someone else's work.

I mean....birds and bats in a row?!?!

I live in the countryside, it was summer when I drew this pic, birds and bats were what I saw every evening from my window.
I feel even stupid trying to justify me for this. Because it's a simple picture with a supersimple idea.

Btw, thanks again to the people who support me and like what I've done. You know, having a design chosen by threadless is a big honour and should be just a supernice thing...not something to fight with for the following months....
