The evolution of fear... from childhood to the grave.

Okay... sooo... First we're afraid of monsters. And then Darth Vader. And then Uncle Sam, and then death? What?

this is silly

I really like the concept, but I'm not sure I understand the Darth Vader element. As children we're afraid of imaginary boogeymen, (once again not sure about Darth Vader), as adults our fears become less tangible--we're afraid of the faceless "Powers In Charge," i.e. government, and, finally, we have to face the fear of our own mortality. I love it, but maybe something else should be put in place of Darth Vader--something that represents an adolescent's fear of rejection, maybe?

This is awesome (I love the Uncle Sam), but I agree with sparrow, Darth Vader has got to go.

You should put Uncle Sam at last.

Maybe Freddy Krueger instead of Darth? and Death as a mushroom cloud?

i was more afraid of the emperor than Darth, personally. also, I think uncle sam should be making the same creepy hand motion as the others, with/out darth.

Fantastic. I wouldn't change it, despite never having been afraid of Darth Vader. I would say I just had "deep respect" for Darth Vader.

I agree. Don't change a thing. Uncle Sam's pose just make him more terrifying, and you know what they say: "Everything's better with Darth Vader."

I just want to say one thing, post script: Maybe the background colour could be something a little less... bland? That one looks like it will be printed Heather Gray, and I oppose all things Heather Gray, cause it just looks cheap. Maybe sandstone, or some darker vairant thereof?

if somehow you could replace Uncle Sam with the IRS

How about a prissy snobby girl instead of Vader

Darth Vader and Uncle Sam to me, represent the exact same things.

sparrow22 is right, I was never afraid of Vader, didn't you watch it when you were a kid? He was evil, but no chucky. Perhaps a teacher/parent? So you get a 4 for now.

BauerDude on Sep 02 '07
Why the Darth Vader? I think every kid thought he was the coolest guy in the world - they weren't afraid of him. Fix Vader and you've got a good design.

Vader because children of the 70's and 80's were afraid of him. I originally had IRS instead of Sam... but I couldn't represent him without IRS on his briefcase. It's not heather it's charcoal.

There should be a little more logic - I have a hard time making the logical leap from one to the other.

You should change uncle sam to the george bush with a big banner above him that says "TERRORISTS ARE OUT TO GET US!!!", and darth vader to a CLOWN for god sakes. That's the scariest thing in exostence for most people in childhood.

good idea. no need for text.

Actually maybe a clown instead of the ghost, lol. I loved Darth Vader, what the hell are most older kids scared of? Hmm...maybe show a pretty popular girl pointing out at the "audience" (breaking the fourth wall) and pointing and laughing? Older kids are afraid of being losers, that's a pretty good way of representing that I think.

a dalek instead of darth. everyone knows your meant to be scared of them at least. i never felt i was meant to be scared of darth. or even just a police man. always running from them as a teenager. but yeah....watever you do replace darth. and give sam the same stance.

Audiovore on Sep 05 '07
Dalek FTW! I may not be a kid from the 70s/80s, but did watch the movies when I was 7, and Vader was just a BA evil dude not scary. Like I said Chucky was scary. Vader was never goin to come out of my closet and kill me. And then there are a good number of people who don't give a damn about Star Wars and might not get it at all, cause even if they say it they weren't afraid of villian. Dalek would be awesome but still a little unkown. Perhaps Jason, Freddy or Pin-Head?

Although, I was never afraid of Darth Vader..
And I don't really like the text. Perhaps if it was on the back?
