Uh, it's not promoting drugs. I guess I was aiming at an audience who can see a little bit past surface references; a little high brow if you will. This happens to poke fun at the fanatical junkie "high" that followers get from a form of religion that seems to be prevalent in today's maddening society and the misplaced aggressions due to those beliefs. (i.e. Jonestown, Heavensgate, Suicide cults/bombers, Scientology, etc.)

Thanks faithvc15...you give me hope! =)

i like what you're trying to say... but i don't think anyone would get it just from looking at the shirt.

i got it, but it took a sec. the idea that drugs are a junkie's religion is just as valid, which one could see as pro-drug or just tragic.
If there was a way to eliminate the ambiguity, I'd buy it. This version would just get misinterpreted 80% of the time.

You do know that there is more than one religion?

But I guess using any other religious symbol than a cross wouldn't be quite as politcally correct

The cross is probably one of the most visually recognizable symbols as a form of religion and it basically fit into the design with the needle, which is where the idea originated. I don't think it singles out Christianity per se. But, as previously mentioned, Jonestown was based on Christianity, as well as the Branch Davidians (who happened to believe Koresh was Jesus), Seventh-day Adventists, Westboro Baptist Church (the "God Hates Fags" people), Snake Handlers, Moonies, etc.

Remember that 50% of the people who will see this shirt are below average. And they get violent when they don't understand things.

I dig it and get it. Not right off, though. I just liked the design. After reading the explanation I thought to myself, "Duh".

It would work better if were better proportioned to look like a religious cross -- the bar appears to fall in the middle, which is atypical of many western, non-orthodox crosses.
