About my design
by lsmc88
Finally, I finished this sub after so much procrastination. I had this file in my USB drive since May and I'm finally done. It's good I waited because I just found out a bunch of helpful photoshop shortcuts and stuff. Anyways, this sub uses Calc 3 concepts. Hopefully you guys get that there is a math concept behind this even if it may be a little advanced. The stuff in the info box on the bottom can be seen enlarged here and here. Hopefully you like it!!!

Yeah I like it but I think I'd like it more if more of the earth's surface were coloured. Mantle orange is better.

the surface of the cross section is the only part that is supposed to be covered, but thanx!

I would definately wear this one. Well done, although I have no idea what kind of "short-cuts" you could've used... 5$

if y=x and x=0... how the hell can y=3000? I haven't taken calculus, but generally, if two things are equal, they are the SAME.

Those are equations of lines.

And the shortcuts I was talking about are just simple keyboard shortcuts

I'd love this on orange poppy. Nothing less than $5 from me.

I like it, it's very creative, but I don't know if people would get it. But it's still nice, very cool.

hooray for math and science! I'd so wear it, but I'm not quite sure about the color.
lsmc88
lsmc88 on Aug 23 '07
I was hoping that the color wouldn't be too much of a problem. It is the color of one of the layers, so it needs to be a color similar to orange. Maybe red? Anyways, that's something that can be easily changed

I vote for molten poppy as well.

I believe the inner core should be inside the outer core. Great design though i really like it regardless of shirt color.

whoa, nice catch! that's a typo, but it is another simple fix

I like it but I do have a suggestion... put the design on the BACK of the T...then whoever is behind you in science class can ace the test! ;o)

You should use 1.6x10^7, not 16000000.
Otherwise, pretty sweet. Orange is definitely the color for this, both are nice.

Is it just me, or are the inner and outer cores labled wrong?

SlicedBread on Aug 26 '07
i really like it and how accurate it is, but i sort of wish there was one totally wrong thing, like one of the layers was gold or cheese or marshmallow fluff or something

Miri Tiazan
Miri Tiazan on Aug 27 '07
Yeah, I think you flipped the labels in the key for the inner and outer cores.

I do sort of wish that you were integrating above a bit bigger region, so that more of the earth was filled in, but I love it anyway. I also like that all your integrals come out to be equal to AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Cute!
Miri Tiazan
Miri Tiazan on Aug 27 '07
Also, something about your y-axis looks off--like it's not going to intersect with the origin. Or maybe it's the line y=x. I don't know, something looks strange to me. But still, $5.
Miri Tiazan
Miri Tiazan on Aug 27 '07
Or maybe it's that the earth doesn't look quite like it's centered at the origin...
lsmc88
lsmc88 on Aug 27 '07
It is centered, its just that the stuff around the axes make it not seem so
