Do you ever feel like a worm, just fishing for compliments?

This was in the running a few days ago, but a server error messed it up and it had to be removed. Now things are fine again, and its back up.

I really like the delicate look of the illustration and the clever application of the colour, but the sentiment... is a bit emo for my liking.

except in real life, people who give you compliments aren't pulled by their faces out of their homes into an environment where they can't breathe, then kept until they're skinned alive and then eaten. lol. Although that is sort of funny to picture... and why is the fishing line self-conscious?

The worm isnt actually fishing for compliments, the fisherman is. The fishing line is his "line" that he uses to get compliments.

I love the concept but I don't think the execution would work because you wouldn't be able to read any of the text, at least for me. I like to wear t-shirts that other people would be able to get without having to stand right in front of the shirt.

"so" is too hard to read- would read much better flipped around, even though it won't flow with the fishing line like the others or if that's a huge issue you could even move "so" further down to the inside of the last curve before "ugly" just so the orientation isn't upside down

other than that- love the concept, love the illustration, appropriate placement
