About my design

by JuggoPop
When I think Gmail, I think Google... when I think Google in relation to design I think of the Google colors and the Google orbs.

When I add that to the theme of "Connect!"... this was the first thing to come to mind. Connect Four in Google's colors. Red Green Blue and Yellow.

Thanks for voting!

While this is nicely executed, I'm afraid it must be the fifth connect-4 submission I've seen this week.

i ave to agree with field studies and the concept is getting really old and boring

If only it didn't take 8 days for a submission to be approved... I submitted mine without seeing any connect 4 subs... then while I'm waiting for approval, theirs get approved.

All I can say is maybe it is such a popular idea because when people thnk simple, primary colors, and the word connect... they lean toward an old favorite from their childhood.

I do agree, that there are too many of this idea. And if I had seen any other before doing mine,... I wouldn't have.

But I do like it and thanks for the comments.

JuggoPop, I like this. And how you used all of the Gmail colors! Great job, really!

@Alex9651899

Take a second and read the my comment(s) before you take a cheap shot. I admitted that there were too many and explained that if I had seen them before hand I wouldn't have even bothered.

Go back and find the first one that was approved through... everyone drools over it saying stuff like "connect 4 rules"... it's not my fault there were a million in queue before me.

next time you want to call someone's work unimpressive, base it on something more then what has already been said and agreed upon. Thanks anyway.

@Curlyfry... thanks for the comment.

I understand what you are saying juggopop about the submission process taking so long, but that has nothing to with the fact that there have been numerous connect four themed shirts months and months before this conctest. I like how you used all the colors of google, but no one who sees the shirt without knowing the contest it came from will realize that. also, if there was some kind of concept here, with maybe a ton of possible connect four's in every possible direction but none that have been completed, i would have rated this higher. I would have put a hand holding the red checker piece, but i know you only have so many colors to work with. Good try, but let's see what else you can do. Good luck!

@FRICKINAWESOME - I can respect that. Thanks for the comment and replying professonally to boot.

I agree with about 85% of what you suggest... I didn't do a hand because it' would need to be attached to something like an arm, attached to a person, etc... and so on.

I was just thinking "simple" like the google home page. And as far as concept... the red is about to drop to make the connection. That was the concept I had in mind

Also I didn't think it needed to scream "gmail contest", but rather just be something I would wear myself.

thanks again! :)

but if the red drops now then it'll just make another three-way =p

nice execution and thought process, although it has been done before. you have a nice, crisp style. i like it!

Love the design, Juggo.

It's too bad that many others had similar thoughts.

It's too bad that many people can't read.

It's too bad that some people are rude.

It's too bad that people suck!

And it's too bad that samolCELA can't count and/or see diagonal lines. :)

Well thats great that you thought of the idea and so did a bunch of other people, but the "not impressive" part didn't so much focus on the concept but on the comparison of your sub to the other ones. Frankly yours wasn't my favorite and i saw it done better.
