I think the face needs to be less straight on. I thre quarter profile woth less harsh lining. Pretty much, I really over your concept but I with the face was more integrated with the water.

I agree with broken crayons, the face needs to be less obvious. Try drawing the face by using wavy, like, watery lines... I don't know how else to put it... But cool concept though!
