Those connecting lines are back in a more artfully done piece :) Thanks to finding the critiquing forum I got some very helpful advice and totally redid the connecting through etcha-sketch idea :)

Full marks for using Picasso's Guernica in a Threadless sub, but I'm missing what it has to do with the contest, or, for that matter, Etch A Sketch. Given what the mural represented, what point are you trying to make ?

The idea was "connected" Etch-a-Sketch art always came out with things connected with lines you didn't want there in the first place. It's just a different spin on the theme of connected instead of the "technology" connected theme so many people seem to be going with.

As for Guernica, all of my thanks go to Sourbitch for recommending it as the basis for the etch-a-sketch art after Starry night came out pretty unsuccessfully :)

I remember one of the first presents I ever got from santa was an Etch-a-Sketch.

=]

The wonders of an old man dressed as santa as a preschooler.

Oh that's crazy! I always sucked at Etch a Sketch. I could draw a mighty fine square. I wouldn't wear it personally but I'm going to give you a 5 because it's so brilliantly executed.

i like the intricacy... but i personally don't like the work chosen. something a bit more .... common like the monalisa would've been better in my opinion.. plus you can't really shade on an etch a sketch

Your concept seem just a little too convoluted for a t-shirt .But I think your going in the right direction

Guernica eh? Well ... as far as works of art go, you sure picked a recognizable one. =)

oh, don't listen to those telling you to use a different picture on the etch-a-sketch. it looks awesome this way and involves people who are accidently connected. makes sense to me. you might have a copyright problem tho, i have no clue.

great job!

I quite like it, but I'm not liking the etch-a-sketch itself. I realize it's tying in with the whole "connect" theme, but I think that's well enough communicated in the art that it's unnecessary to connect the lines of the etch-a-sketch. It just looks sort of sloppy next to the Guernica.

love the sketch and concept. i would also love to see some more detail on the etch-a-sketch (shadow? shine?)
