I can't say I agree with you on the similarity, shirtflirt. It's personal of course, but I think they are very different. Especially if you take into account that they use lots of similar elements.

These three designs (ab)use those similar elements (not all of them are the same btw) but they are completely different in style, composition, and colouring.

for me, the point of the 'legion' subs was to take elements with different styles to make something new, different and i think all three do that successfully.

i think it's pretty unfair to say it's the same thing subbed three times as although some do have common elements in them, different people took contributions from the designers and took it on themselves to composite them how they saw fit, personally i think the style is in the composition - not the elements used.

i guess so. sure, they're colored differently. but they are all three collections of characters. similar in shape, two of the three at least. yet, as you pointed out, colored differently.

Making all 3 of them look different, with a different vibe, and different concepts, having common elements amongst them, and with so many different styles together, is what makes them great for me as a whole. I don't think they are, by any means, just a poor mash-up of recycled elements, there's more to it in them. Added to that, each one of the looks awesome separately.

i think it's more than that. one is done in a crest/badge like fashion, another composed with the marker and paintrunning throughout the composition, while this one is more of an explosion from a single point.

when it comes down to it, everyone's got an opinion, but i thought it was important to explain what the black rock guys tried to do with these.

this one isnt my fav of the three, but all of them are great.
also, blackrock guys, regardless of ur intentions, of poeple think that the 3 shirts look similar, then they probably look similar. you know al the differences, because u made them all and don't have an objective, 3rd party view of the design, so trust people who comment, eh? its only their opinions anyways.

there is a lot to be said about the artistry of composition.

that's my point josh, i'm not saying they're not similar, but you know as well as i do the point was to see what guys on the black rock could do with the same (or similar) elements to work with.
