It does not look like a hippo. Also it needs more activity going on in the shirt. Where is the hippo? Make him interact with someone.

Hippos have huge mouths. The perspective does not allow for you to see that. It's still cute, just wouldn't be a hippo to me.

It looks a little too South Park Kenny visits the Aquarium. I think the idea of a hippo in scuba is great, though.
