This is really cute, and I love it as a grammar nerd :) I'm a bit torn on whether it should just say 'thesaurus rex' like others have suggested, or if it should just stay as it is -- for the former, it does get to the punchline faster, but for the latter, I like how having it in brackets underneath gives it this kind of dictionary definition feel as well. I guess I'd be fine with it either way.

(re: Murgles...I can only speak for myself, but I think it's pretty f'obvious that those of us who want it to just say "thesaurus rex" are only suggesting to eliminate "the t-rex" and not the words in the speech balloon. that would be dumb)

i agree with the putting 'thersaurus rex' under the t. rex. maybe a scientific name under that would be cute too, a la coyote-roadrunner style... (even though tyrannosaurus rex IS the scientific name of the t. rex)
