too simple =/

maybe a light green spotlight shed over the mic would work better, them it would make a bit more sense

I like the minimalism, you don't that much on threadless. Nice muted colors. 5

I like the simplicity of it although a few details to the mic and stand in white would add a nice effect, I believe.

@Anti-Emo

Like sweetnut321 and Dr.Ev put it out. the concept of this shirt is its simplicity. So if I added reflections, i would lose its "shadowy" character.

Please be nice and constructive.

Cheers

I'm sorry if I sounded mean, it's a great shirt, I just thought it needed a bit more. But if you like it like that. then it's cool with me.

This is the second microphone in the face submission I've seen today. This one is better than the other one but still...meh.

Please be nice and constructive? Um, I think they were!

This is a great concept wrapped up in a dull design. Sorry.

Where's the dull design (i.e. constructivity)?

And where is the nice in dull?

kalagrace on Jul 18 '07
oh dear, nice doesn't mean that everyone heaps false praise on your design. it is dull, but i appreciate the telescoping mic stand. and green gel is always a poor choice, anti-emo.

Love the concept and simplicity

Screw simplicity...if the mic stand was well detailed and looked increbily realistic, i'd probably dig this a bunch more. As it stands, it looks like a piece of clip art blown up to a gigantic proportion and smacked on a tee. Sorry.

^what frickin said but with less swearing.

Needs to puch out some more.

Try the critiques section.

Simplicity forever. Thanks for all the people who get the concept, which is not - repeat: NOT - about details, shadows and gradients.

And thanks for the nice critiques, frickin. Cliparts are not that successful without reason… ;)

Maybe this is just the wrong place for simple beauteousness.

Maybe I should really try the critiques section, but on the other hand: "Good design always divisived the masses!"

"good design..." tell me about it. I'd stay away from philosophy with your work here if i were you! This site doubles as a forum for nascent ideologues hungry for socio-political commentary.

anywayyyyy. . . this kind of iconic image is identifiable at a glance - maybe it would preserve the concept but add a little more umph if you went with some "alternative" color contrasts rather than straight "dark on light". a light warm tone on a muted field?

I agree with what you're trying to do with the piece as a strong, simple image - but sometimes it's worth it to put some "double take" detail in.

This is a critique! Grazie mille, shazamvt.

Maybe I should really try another one or go for more detail, especially here on Threadless… Thanks.

I like your designs quite a lot btw.

I like it a lot the way it is, frankly, the subtlety of it really appeals to me. I say stand by your original concept and don't add gradients, details, etc! The only thing I can suggest to is to improve the composition a bit more; it would add that "oomph" that would make it wearable. Maybe if the whole design was shifted a bit up and to the right it would be less awkward. A solid $4, though!

the mic is sort of placed awkwardly?

@token @vice

Your both right, I already thought of that too. The final design will definitely have this alteration…

(Hope this is possible…)

I recommend you stop being so defensive about your design. Sometimes you just dont like a design, there might be a million reasons but not always possible to pinpoint.

Personally, i don't mind this design... atleast it has a concept but I wouldn't wear it. Doesn't match up to the Threadless standards.
