dig the design and didn't get the concept right away, but i like it! a little frightening, because i fear this may come true.

oh, and neenja?

'?' looks out of place a little. Work it in and it'd be great

I'm glad you weren't tempted to put an American flag in there - it's a lot better without.

I really like this, actually. 5$

but rad idea.

Considering the number of countries who have made it to the moon, one, an American flag would be pretty unnecessary. The U.S.-centered globe erases any doubt anyway. Too bad the moon didn't have dinosaurs way back when to turn into oil so we wouldn't have to shoo-- uh, I mean liberate -- any people to get it. Since it looks like you have colors to spare why not try one with a green & blue earth?

Yeah - if you have colours to spare, make the earth green and blue, and rotate it away from the US slightly.

Still 5$

with the exception of the fact that I know there is NOOOOOOO as in zero Oil on the moon

(lack of life = lack of dead plants and animals to turn into oil really)

I LOVE this....

Nice work.

This is so much better than just wearing a 'drive less' shirt or something.

They're not mining for oil, duh. Everyone knows there's no oil on the moon.

They're mining for CHEESE!

The idea is nice. But I think the oil rig could stand out more, and the astronauts stand out a little too much. I think for a T-shirt, something you see in passing, the message needs to become clear in an instant, or it falls flat.

bonedaddy on Jul 06 '07
Anyone want to take a stab at the US's current attempt to annex the North Pole for its oil?

Turns out they are laying claim to it and it is said to have 10 times more oil than all of the middle east combined.

Oh…wait…that would be Russia's attempt. My mistake.

It needs to be on something a little lighter coloured.

Besides that, a great design.

Is it sad that the first thing I thought about was how guns wouldn't work on the moon?

It's a vacuum, doncha know.
maddingo
maddingo on Jul 06 '07
it is sad that i know you are incorrect on two points

a. the guns would work (the cartridges contain /propellant and a chemical oxidizer, without which it wouldn't work)

b. the moon is not a vacuum... it has a (weak albeit) atmosphere and gravitational field.

but point b is moot as a firearm could still fire in a vacuum

do they need silencers on the moon
maddingo
maddingo on Jul 07 '07
they are not silencers they are Flash suppressors

they are fitted to rifles to reduce the muzzle flash when fired (especially at night)

you would want this as the muzzle flash can easily give away your location to an enemy.

I would bet that there are no hydrocarbon deposits on the moon. Sorry, but it just doesn't make any sense.

Love the design, just want lighter color shirt for better contrasts. maybe something blue-purplish. Violet? Go, Halliburton!

drjedipimp on Jul 09 '07
nice! 13strong, you're a genius!

actually, they are harvesting Helium3

which will one day (after oil is depleted, i bet) power cars using nuclear fusion!

-keeping my finger's crossed till then...

PS-you really should click my link, it's fascinating for any chem nerd out there...or bored gamer that snuck onto this site...lolzz

I disagree with adding more color. I think you have a great idea/design. My only suggestion would be to make the middle astronaut larger to bring a bigger focal point to the tee. More color is for teenie boppers. Every shirt doens't need to look like it came from the NYC hip hop scene. Good job.

I want that shirt right now. I love the play on politics, and how it's still not too political.

I think it's a little silly to put so much emphasis on the fact that there wouldnt be oil on the moon. If anything, the US stupidly thinking it could get oil from the moon adds to the idea. Either way, nice design.

emoemocat on Jul 12 '07
the moon ground looks a little too much like the spray paint feature on paint. love the concept, id wear it any ways.
