i like the placement

The design needs better placement, as it is fairly simple. Also, there's no "curiosity" with wrapping the design around to the back because there's nothing except a red semi-circle.

Also wondering about text? A clean CAPS font? Not a novel, wondering about a logo of some kind. |

I like the idea of him having a big red afro. This doesn't say "owl" to me, more generic bird. With an afro. Which is awesome.

hahaha its not an afro, its supposed to be a hole like in a tree.
but yea, this is only my first submission and i didnt really expect everyone to understand/like it. im going to work on my 'skills' more of making these. |

switching the colors would make it look more like a hole and maybe put some little talons on the owl.

I really like it, but the colors are so warm in the design, and they clash on the light blue. Maybe put it on brown?
