Cute and funny.....................of course the real one killed more people than Hitler which isn't so funny.

Um. Mixture of Chairman Mao (Chinese) + Japanese symbolism = not such a great idea.
Also, the pseudo-Asian font is horrible. |
|
the sun symbol is not exclusively japanese, I got the idea of the sun background from an old chairman mao poster see here:
mao poster as you can see it is not a crossover of cultures or countries styles, it is just imagary and symbolism taken from relevant material. |

Yes, as Sooty says, THIS IS A VALID CHINESE DESIGN....so stop complaining!!!! But anyway, who cares? Just take it at face value, it's a cute design and it's funny!
Great work Sooty! |

This concept has been done much better on noisebot.com. But good try.

Nice design but I think unless people knows chairman mao (who's not a good guy) they won't catch the joke. But it's a good try.
|
|
I'm sure people will know who chairman mao is. and I don't think it matters that he is not a 'good guy'. I have a t shirt with darth vader on it and he's not a good guy either.

I like it, but I think it would look better if you lost the uniform and the pretzel-style sitting position. Also, I think you should extend the rising sun's rays and take out that "boxed in" look.

Mao, with different tones, is the word for cat and "meow" in Chinese, as well as being the surname of the first Chairman of the CCP.

Spam69: Should we all go and burn any tee that makes a reference to the devil and what about Lord Voidemort!

Hi Spam69, I'm not "gunning" for you at all. I think some of your comments about this t-shirt were oversensitive, and could be seen as trivializing the very subject you were commenting on .

I completely agree with cfabela911. I was about to say that myself, but realized I'd been beaten to the punch.
