About my design

by ConceptHue
Ok, I give up because there's no white shirts first off. Second, I hate the template system there's no Illustrator template....you don't design shirts with flash you design websites/interactive with it. Copying an entire image or exporting from Illustrator is the way it should be done because...Second, this is a resubmit because in the translation from Illustrator to flash, the lovely overprint feature or something got lost so now this is correct. Hmmm, where's my flightcheck? :)

I love that, and I'm surprised I would too because I typically don't like just-illustrated pictures. But the re-positioning made a lot of difference. Sweet deal.

yea, i have a series too and the illustration is always half hidden and half in front of the two words. it's a visual vocabulary i set with the series but for some dumb reason it didn't come out the first time. oh well. thanks a million for bringing it to my attention.

You could always just export the flash template to illustrator....

after reading the way you critique other peoples work, am quite suprised at this entry?

expected something with a bit of talent. maybe you should take some of your own advice?

just a suggestion.

tiggus... i'd love for some real comments. if you have suggestions please by all means. everything in life can always be improved. i don't see how this design is so "untalented," as you put it, nor do my colleagues. so please don't waste my time.

i think it is very good, clever without being arrogant (the slogan is cool without being oh ha ha how witty), the design is clean (although her arse is a little weird) and i really like the way the text is in front of and behind the image. the only problem is - who would really want to wear it? its just a bit too ick...
claycon21
claycon21 on Oct 20 '03
I think it's dis-tasteful (although I don't always mind that)

clever - no

arrogant - yes

I guess I'm OK with it, but never would I wear it
ConceptHue
ConceptHue on Oct 20 '03
yea, it does take a certain type of person to wear it :) and people looked at me weird when i said i would wear it.. but no, screw it. im gonna wear it. just not to work ;)

^ I'd want to wear it. ;/

I can't help but laugh at people who i see saying 'Awesome design, but damn, I cant have people see me wearing that!' The e' tu gau shirt was like that, i wasn't aware of how many people cared so much about who people viewed their sexual preference over the art of a shirt.

I like the image but not the text. Its just like. i dunno. not art enough? its an illustration of the text but where's the art the cumming over?

I don't need to waste your time. your obviously doing a good enough job at it yourself.

My comment was that you have been quite critical over some really nice design pieces, most of which are better than this "attempt". Hence my surprise. But hey, its all subjective, and in this case, I don't think it is working. Bad type, naked chicks on there hands and knees, how original.

next.

for a start its not centred on the shirt. The lady isnt strong enough to balance the design. Its big and its clumsy and overall the design is tasteless.

well it is true, the print i made today was a little bit smaller seeing it in real llife is much different and i did make some adjustments to the size and slightly the position. The template here is fairly accurate though I did center it based on the type in real life though. Here it is just centered on the whole block/element. Of course it's meant to be centered by the text and when you go to print it, it's another ball game. It's not like you print out this exact template on a t-shirt through a printer. Shirt's aren't made that way (though I wish they were). Now as far as her not being strong enough....I don't quite know what you mean, she is a very important element and has *some* impact haha let's use that one sarcastically. Or did you mean the weight of the line? I thought of making it thicker and today it was a pain in the ass printing because the screen would fill in easily. I had to add more water to the ink (for paper) but the tshirts printed well and didn't clog because that ink is a little bit different also you pull twice on shirts. Anyway, thanks for the real comments it was a lot better than before. I actually think you have half a brain now....course if it weren't for that obnoxious immature space in your comment...Which also throws some ideas out there about your age and seriousness as a designer and don't get me wrong, I've seen some of your work and I like it, but your attitude has to change to make it in this world.

yeah I understand what your saying concepthue, its just hard to be serious sometimes when there are alot of people taliking schite. I still don't like this design, but design is a very subjective issue, and when you are passionate about what you do, you can't help but let fly now and then. i had a look at your site and there are some nice pieces on it, and now that I have that link I will visit it now and then to see what your up too.

If you have time, go to my bio and have a look at my webpage, wouldn't mind hearing some of your comments.

[ its a very slow loading site, i'm in the process of developing a new one ]

I think tiggus and concept hue have a thing for each other... maybe they can make hundreds of babies together (concepthue seems to have adopted the position already) and get a child labour t factory happening in a shed behind their shack where they can argue eternally whether they are in fact bigger than design itself or not. Best of luck to you both and may the cherubs of the universe forever smile on the souls of your feet.
