The tree is much too large and distracts from the dinosaur, which should be the main focus. The character is cute though, if that's what you're into.

why don't you tell your friend not to be cutting down on other artists designs, its karma. you don't believe me?, look at your precious KatieRoz average score for rating over 1700 designs, she gives out an average of less than 1.5. Sure not every design on threadless is a 5, but having an average of less than 1.5 just tells me that that person is jaded and has an inferiority complex. For people to say they are about supporting a community --- and a contributor gives an average of 1.47 ,
under the old threadless rules, if people scored the design the same as your precious KatieRoz, less than 1.5 it would have been taken off the site after 24 hours http://threadless.com/news/1236/Important_new_scoring_functionality! they changed the rule because of artists undercutting other artists for no good reason. i love t-shirts. that's why i am the proud owner of several threadless originals. however, i don't vote higher than 0 for designs I would never wear. i'm just picky like that. i love the monoclesaurus and will be gifting (no joke) everyone i know with their size t-shirt when this gets printed. please do not be mean sunpippy, that makes me and everyone else who likes this design sad, and that's not in the monoclesaurus spirit.

I was under the assumption that we in fact have free speech in this country. I vote based on personal like or dislike of the design, and I don't think there is anything wrong with that.
We are talking about a t-shirt website, maybe some people take it less seriously than you do Aristarchus. |

However, try and put what she said into context: Assume for a moment that I am representitive of the Average Threadless Voter/Shopper. About 1/100 designs are ones I would wear. That means that out of every 100 designs, if I voted a la ClareBear, would receive something other than a 0. Does that make much sense? Finally, consider this design: It's cute, I think it's clever, the artist has some skill. After much internal debate over whether to score it a 3 or 4, I gave it a 4. However, I wouldn't wear it. It is a take-off on the British T-Rex -- I thought it might be a late submission to the make-fun-of-the-LUErs contest.
But the fact that it goes beyond the British T-Rex and does something cool with it is what makes it charming. |

It's also a SELECT tee which means he can put whatever he wants on it. People here love his stuff. And yeah, staffell. I thought of the same thing. |

Now I know I haven't really been a part of this splendid conversation you folks are having, but I thought I shoud throw out some facts (considering I'm dating the designer and I'm the one that introduced her to Threadless in the first place)
1. This is not meant to be a copy of the British T-Rex. The monoclesaurus has been drawn by katieroz since before I've known her (roughly a year and half, aka a year before British T-Rex was submitted). If for some reason you think this is a lie, send me a message, I'll send you dated photos. I bought her a wacom tablet in april and she finally got to do some drawing on her computer, and naturally the monoclesaurus became digitalized. The designs are two different styles of drawing, with two different focuses. 2. About the friends coming and voting: Threadless encourages this activity (They even have a form email to send out to your friends as well as banners for your website). It brings new users to the site, and is free advertising. If you feel that the 1% difference caused by the 25 people or so people is going to make a huge difference on how this scores, take another math class. 25/2400 = 1.04% = 0.052 on a scale of 5 = no difference on whether it gets printed. I mean the "original gamester" scored a 2.00 and it was still printed. |
