It's all right. I like the concept. Not too fond on the execution. Perhaps the bird should be shoved in a bottle...

Eek! No! I kinda love this as is.

I like this enough to buy it, but I'd need to see a close-up of the cyrillic. As it is, I can't see any Ks in the second word - how can you spell 'cocktail' in cyrillic without Ks?

What is up with the brown outline on everything? This is a cool concept, but the outline is totally unnecessary and distracting.

In response to wigbowl; If you want to zoom in, just click and drag.

There was no Russian word that I could find for "Cockatiel" so it says "Molotov the Bird"

The burgundy outline was to make it look more 'logoish' and to make the design pop more against the background. Looked more interesting than a normal black stroke.

One thing I don't like is how it says Молотов Птица instead of Птица Молотов. But those unfamiliar with russian probably wouldn't care much. Also the word for Cockatiel is "Попугай". There's details as to how to use the word molotov along with it; the ending changes depending on how you mean to say it so it's easy to screw that one up. I'd just go with english lettering.

Thanks for the tip Vladdy, that's the kind of stuff I was asking for in the critique, unfortunately nobody stepped up. Oh well...

i like the burgundy outline, it gives it a nice touch. sometimes black is just blah for certain designs. good job. :D

Oh hee! I didn't know that was the word for Cockatiel. Neat, because of its similar sound to the English word "popinjay". I love languages.

Also, I love this design. Well done!

Meant to add: The flames on his little head really make this. :)

Also the "P" in ptitsa looks like a "L" as in "lyet." I like the design and the idea tho. Would like to see more cyrillic stuff.

I think it's pretty awesome. I suppose just fix the cyrillic and you're good to go, imo.

Really great concept, just the design needs a bit more detail to it, then I'd buy it.

I'm glad Vladdypwnz clarified. I made the obvious assumption about what it was saying, missing the most humorous part "Cockatiel" instead of "Cocktail." (I know it's right there, but I didn't see it at first). Leave it in Russian - way more interesting and funny when explained.

I like it, but the "п" looks more like a "л" , otherwise good

Just a historical thing, but the Finnish are the ones that invented the Molotov Cocktail.
Yourhero
Yourhero on Jun 15 '07
Yes, but it is named after Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov, who was a Soviet. Being as how the word Molotov is of Russian origin, i thought that it was more appropriate for the design.
