About my design

Again, I wish the shirt was white :) This is another part of the series I've decided to create. Sometimes frustration can spawn some pretty groovy stuff. More to come. Eventually.

I see what you're aiming for, and I think you had all the text in black, with only the dude's head in red, it would give it a bit more emphasis, and a place for the eye to focus

Interesting. I agree because I think the chalk outline isn't quite as interesting as the other design I had for "Artgasm." The only problem with that is I'd be destroying my visual language set by "Artgasm." If I wanted to remain consistent I couldn't keep the text all black...however maybe ICIDE could be outlined black like the figure to connect those two elements...hmmm, but I'd still prefer to keep it solid red because of that visual language I have going on for the series. Any suggestions?

Yeah, I agree CH, I think the solid red makes more of a mark. I just can't get over the fact that it looks like his head has been totally removed from the body, I think it'd add a sense of satirical humor to it, if possibly you made it look the way it is, but put the blood over a head with two comedic 'x's for his eyes and maybe a tongue sticking out. It just seems kind off as it is.

Well ah Mr. "I have some type of negative coment to make on every bodys work". Lets start with your design. I see where your going with this but it's not working out. You could have been more detailed and done a better job on the "chalk" outline (wheres the head?). If you know anything 'bout typography, you would know to align your words correctly. Besides thoes simple common mistakes, I love the red against the khaki. PEACE!

Hahaha, I don't have negative things to say. I hope to help people by leaving professional comments that offer solutions. I wouldn't go around talking about stuff I didn't know. You should look at my website.. Hmmm...kinda expected something like your comment though as a "revenge" thing but that's ok. Are you 15? Let me help you out. First off I've taken more typography classes and worked with more typography and designed more type faces than you will ever in your life. I work at a real design firm with type all day long and have been doing so for a while now. Everything is aligned and kerned. Know what that word means? You actually think I would let something go like that? Maybe it's the monitor or something but I just copied and pasted the same thing I just burnt onto my screen the other day and I literally took out that vellum just now, just for you and even took my trusty shaedler rule, because that's how wonderful I am, and made sure it was aligned. Now if you think something is really wrong you should think about defending your statements or offering what you would do instead. That's simply all I do and it's fine. Go take a good art class or something and pay attention during the crits. I don't care you can say I don't like it. However, you can't say it sucks or it has poor typography unless you can say WHY. Else your comments are empty and you look like a fool and if you don't know, how can you make the statement? Now, if you really have a problem with my help on this site, I don't have to spend hours helping people out here but I think a lot of people benefit. Now I don't even get your problem because I liked your design, I never insulted or lied about your work. Whatever, this is pointless, this site is just turning into arguing. Nothing here is professional, barely anything on the internet is. Just wanna be designer kids...
