Hi, sometimes, i look at my first illustrations for Threadless (one year ago) and i think that the concept was strong, but not the execution. Here, i wanted to give this idea a new life, for the same reason. My inspiration what at the time a song of the Stereophonics "Thousand Trees". I hope you'll like it, i wanted to do something very simple and expressive this time to let the concept his full strength.

Nice. Usually dividing a design into panels is kind of intellectually lazy, but here is is the perfect solution. Your fire illustration is especially strong, good work!

I thought you were taking this off of somebody else since i remebered this tee design quite well, but stealing off yourself isn't illegal (yet). Fantastic concept the last time, and i also like the way you went about this this time as well...so a 5$ to you all over again! Maybe a TAD bit bigger?

good idea and design

This design is much cleaner than your original - I really like the changes you've made. Particularly the way the trees and part of the match-flame come out the top of the boxes. Very nice!

which is the original? you have so many I couldn't find it in the thumbnails. I promise to judge this on its merits alone. I just like to see how things evolve.

Great concept. It's well drawn (far better looking than your original) and clearly conveys its message.

My only issue is the arrow for the second panel to the third... I agree there should be a connection between them, but 1000000 matches don't turn into a single flaming match.
Honestly though, it's so good that even unchanged i $5 it.

glazedkoala, the arrow from the second panel to the third is interpreted like that: from those 1000000, you just need a single (flaming) match to burn down 1000000 trees, so this arrow is perhaps not necessary, but still logical ;-)

I think this is a really good example of a successful resubmission. Jebs waited a year before resubbing and made some structural changes (ie. not just a different colour/placement) that have improved the design.

I really like - though I almost feel like the first match portrayed has already been lit cause of the black tip, if you could use one more color and make it red (I only counted that you had used 4, so...)

staffell, yes it was 1 thousand, but it's not a good number, far from the truth, 1 million is IMO much significant ;-)

chellefish, the concept of 2 in the front, and two in the back is REALLY good! i should have thought of this earlier...

as an old-school stereophonics fan, i wish you'd kept the 1,000 idea. by trying to change it it looks like you made it up yourself, which you didn't. i like it though.
