this is being pushed into the running after a short critique. What pretty much sealed the decision was a 'I need this!' compliment from an actual, legally handicapped blogger.....because this isn't about making fun of the handicapped, it's about scam artists and people with the brashness to take advantage of situations and thier literal definitions.....as well as just being ironic that a guy wheels into a space, locks his chair up and walks into the store.....it's a skit I always wanted to film..complete with the guy 'chirping' the chair's alarm...a detail I spared you from in this illustration!
some even say the guy isn't needed. i'd be willing to take him out for an even more simple design.
..shown are colors for AA girl's charcoal and silver..and i'm thinking it could work on men's khaki, light blue, or heather (urgh) as well.

did you see on the news last night the guy who's wheelchair's handles got stuck in the grill of a big truck while he was crossing the street?
true story. They said the driver couldn't see him & drove several miles at 50 mph before anyone could tell him to stop! AMAZING he didn't get hurt.

anyway, back to the shirt:
I think it's funnier without the guy. the joke reads better, and the empty chair says enough w/out showing the person. IMO.

im legally handicapped :(

I really like the design, though I think I would like it better without the person walking away. As blandford said, the empty chair says enough and it's a bit more simple that way. Good design though.

I kind of like the idea of the man walking away. Maybe he's not needed, but I kind of like it. All in all, definetly one I'd buy in a second! Good job!!

I guess I don't understand why the guy doesn't just take the wheelchair into the store....

this is my favorite i've seen all night [thats out of a lot in case you didn't know] so yea - love it! i'd take with or without the guy, but i like it enough as is to buy it.

thanks guys. i agree it can work both ways: without the guy, it could be a hopeful OR a sarcastic message. ...without the guy it almost leans towards a positive message. ..like...who's chair was this? did they overcome their handicap and make a statement by locking up the chair for good? but with the guy, it's clearly an asshole issue, with only a minor feeling of 'so is he cured now?'.....but a stronger feeling of 'what a jerkwad' as he struts off....and i like the way he ended up, plus he has my bowlegged yet pigeon-toed walk... heh heh. but i could take it or leave it as you tell me.

i like it with the guy. the guy who lives across the street from me is a paraplegic cop and he loves a good wheelchair joke. i'd buy this for him. and maybe for me too.

You need the guy, otherwise it's not perfectly clear that he's a jerk who isn't really handicapped. Great idea and execution... I dunno if it's necessarily a statement that a ton of people want to walk around wearing though? 4, good job.

again- i gotta say- i'm happy to see how many people 'got it'- got where i was coming from with this one. i fully expected to have a fight on my hands with politically correct people bothered by the fact that the issue of 'handicapped' is even mentioned, let alone joked with.
