How do you explain this, Matrioshka?

although I like it on it's own merits, I think there have been more than enough submissions along the line of "questionable paternity". And any design using nesting dolls is always going to be compared to the awesome one that was printed where each doll is a deeper layer of the woman's tissues.

Still, I really like the design, and would buy, if only for all the angry eyes of the little nesting dolls. I almost wish your "How do you explain this, Matrioshka?" was the caption.

That's how it happened back in the days of slavery, no mysterious genetic recombination there!

This one doesn't work as well as other "it's the mailman's kid" ideas mostly because there's no father at all!

I'm not sure how it's the fault of the largest doll that the smallest one doesn't match up. If anything I think they should all be looking at the next to last one going "wtf? how come you opened up and revealed a doll we weren't expecting?"

Ummmm... dark mother and light baby is not genetically likely (dark skin is dominant) but it is an interesting take, I agree that this is one of the few designs that a caption would suit.

Yup. That's pretty much it. I think it's one of the better ones of the paternity designs, but i've never liked those designs or that concept to begin with!

I think it's abit wank to be honest. Overused concept and not actually that clear to understand at the start, as surely the mother of the black one should be the one directly on the left? As thats how russian dolls work... at first I miss-interpreted it as racial bullying.

Why does everyone have to say the same thing over and over again. People should read previous posts before posting. I think the artist got the fact that this is a similar concept to previous designs from the first post by impetuousfink.

Aside from that, I like the design. I think the positioning on the shirt works well. I like the simplicity of the colours.

i own both nesting dolls and got some 'splaining to do, both of which i love. this shirt however, doesn't have the same spark to it as those. nice idea though.

its always fun to see those of us who DON'T submit their own ideas(myself included) tearing someone else down for what they DID submit.
as its said, "imitation is the strongest form of flattery" or some similar shit like that. i agree that some ideas are over-used and extremely played out, but we as a community should be giving constuctive criticism, intead of posting comments like 'waltponce' without providing anything helpful.
it even states "remember, be nice!" next to the damn comment box. think before you react, and if you can't say anything constructive, or at least nice, just shut the hell up.

Hahah. At first, I didn't notice the black baby and looked at the first 4, and it just made me think of the mother farting and all the kids giving her that disapproving look.

No. I think you are getting things out of all proportion. I have done the idea with a black doll because I didn't find any other alternative to express an infidelity with an image without text. Because the other dolls are daughters of her too, and they are white.

However, this submition isn't being very popular, so there's no problem :P

By the way -- the black doll should have black hair, not brown.

I don't like the other matroshka threadless shirt. I like this one. To me it's not about paternity, because I didn't see the inner dolls as daughters, i saw them as inner selves. buuut i'm weird.
