Everyone likes magic. Learn some (and teach anyone who sees it) with this t-shirt.

Thanks to the critics, you know who you are.

I love this shirt- my grandfather used to do this trick all the time when I was little and I thought it was totally amazing!

I chuckled to myself, but I think it needs the brilliant title to make it work.

It's a really nice and simple idea, I think it's lacking something to make it great!

Alternatives with titles can be seen here, the no text version won the vote. Who knows, if this one gets made they might consider the text version too.

why red again?...

I'm sure if the shirt is popular enough it can be printed on any color - white goes with just about everything after all...

I like both of your shirt ideas, but i don't like at all the color combos you have chosen with them. Thicker lines would work wonders for this design.

Again, these colors were the popular choice in critique. Thanks for all the comments guys 'n' gals.

I was too late to comment in the critique, but I think you could drop the 3 points..

Well, the idea behind the design is that it's like an instruction manual, the kind of thing you'd find advertised in the back of 50s comic books (X-ray Glasses, 99c!), so I wanted to give it a diagrammatic feel, hence the dots and arrow.

Ooo, can we reach 1000 votes by the end of the day? You decide...

Funny! I like it on red.

BWHAHAHAHA! the only thing i might consider changing is making the lines darker and thicker(maybe black)because it looks good on red, but it wouldn't show up from far away i dont think...

this is cute, my dad taught me this trick...! on illustration 2, there is a little "bit" protruding off the stump that looks like it shouldn't be there...don't know how to explain, but i think where the knuckle bends it should just appear straight/flush.

Would be better if you had the title of the shirt as text on the shirt
NYC
NYC on Jun 10 '07
I had a version with the title on the shirt in critique, the non-text version was more popular; made sense to go with it.

The lines should be good and thick at actual size. Thanks for the score.

The thumb on the 'after' picture needs to not look like it has a tumor. Other than that, $5.

NYC on Jun 13 '07
Ok.

Put your left hand out, pinkie finger facing the ground, so, palm facing right. Bend your thumb so the end is hiding behind the palm.

Now, bend your right thumb and rest your right index finger on the knuckle. You're ready.

Rest your right thumb on your left hand, next to your left thumb, in such a way that your right index finger covers the gap between the two thumbs.

Then just slide your right thumb away from your left thumb. Voila.

kewl... i for some reason have never been able to do that quite right... my thumb is crazy i guess...
$5
NYC
NYC on Jun 14 '07
Yeah...a problem arises if you can't bend your left thumb enough to get it completely out of the way. You can use two fingers to cover the gap rather than just one.
