If you had done this with sunset colors, it would have looked more like jam (to the point where I think you could have skipped the text). Some crust texture (subtle) might help, too.

Kaloyster did a submission very similar to this, and IMO, did it quite superior to this.

I like the idea. I agree that some subtle crust texture would help, esp. on the corner nearest the viewer because that area of the design flattens out. Good job.
