The word "MATH" is kind of hard to see. I instantly saw the A and the H... then I saw the M... and then I looked for the T.



I probably wouldn't have seen the word unless I had read the title of the design.

don't like the alternate and i agree with eunice - the word is really tough to read. you probably don't even need it. but yes i love the pi symbol for the pitchfork and the math scrawling behind him.

Aw, I really like this! If anything, it's too refined- I like the idea of an angry kid scrawling this in the margin of his algebra textbook.

hmm... a lot of my writing there disappeared... anyhow, not nearly as pleasant on the eyes or as clever, but from it the idea was born. I was pretty annoyed with math at that time as I recall...

in the top right, it should be:

integral of (sinx dx) = - cos x + C



i don't know if the negative is covered or not, but it makes no sense to have dx where it is...



and the quadratic formula on the bottom left

should be b^2 MINUS 4ac... rather than +





and to be really picky....: (x^a)(x^b) is not necessarily = x^(a+b)

hahahahahh but i guess that's just being ridiculous, you should fix the other two things though

I love the design. There are many of us who can share in the math hatred department, so it's a good concept and it was pulled off nicely. Well done. I'd wear it.

hmm, alrighty, I will change the plus to a minus, especially if it actually gets printed haha... I'm not afraid of math, but during AP calculus, it gets pretty crazy going through a concept a day. I was frustrated more than anything, and I'm not really enjoying doing it at the moment. I enjoy it much more when using it for something practical, like programming :P



For the record though, the minus IS covered up by the pi trident. I swear haha, but i could maybe try and move things around. As for the other, for my own benefit, care to give an example of when (x^a)(x^b) doesn't equal x^(a+b)? I know it's an old, general formula back from grade nine math.



Oh, and I know I HAD the other formula worked out right, but then something happened to my background layer and screwed everything up. In my absentmindedness, the minus got replaced with a plus... heh...



I'll post a link in an hour or so when I change it. You can tell me if the formulas are to your liking :)

Oh god, I didn't even realize those were legitimate equations *shudder* ...Math... Yes, I love it, especially with the fire, but need more contrast if using the fire..Yellow inside and red outside? Or change the red to orange?

@Starstruk: How 'bout something like this? I had this in the critiques but the plain background was the clear winner, followed by the other flames. Keep in mind it would have the shading lines and whatnot, not just plain, but I just don't have time to make a new gif right this moment :)

Math bedeviled me as well when I was younger. I wish I could take all my classes again, with better teachers. I'm sure I'd have a better time now that I understand the basics more thoroughly. What a difference a good instructor can make. I honestly believe that the reason people hate the subjects they do is because of poor and/or unmotivated teachers. Not to blame the good ones, they're doing the best they can in rough circumstances, but I will blame the coaches, sadists, and others who have no business at the front of a classroom.



My high school math education experience can be summed up by my first day in calculus. The coach put an equation up on the chalkboard, couldn't get it to work, and said, "Well, it's something like that. Read the first chapter, we'll have a test at the end of the week." And that was the honors class. Nice.



So yeah, I like your idea here.

good design but it's really annoying me that the sine rule has lower case letters on the bottom line, they should be upper case to distinguish angles from sides, sorry... just annoying

@annettettenna: That's a quick fix. I'll post another edit with capitals on the lower line later tonight.

but if you checked all that stuff, you would probably gain some nerd support



this is the kind of shirt i would consider getting for my boyfriend (physics teacher), but i'm not sure he would wear it

@12monkeys: this was already mentioned and has been fixed : P Another quick, but minor fix with the sine rule is on its way as soon as I get a chance to get on the computer with the original too!

good illu, but somehow the attitude feels like back at school. I hated maths for sure, but it's just another subject, and many people were good at it and liked it. I would feel incredibly childish wearing a shirt like that, sorry :-(

Hey Puff! For the record I only made one and a half mistakes on the formulas. Also, I got a 90% in calculus so apparently it didn't turn out to be much of a problem :P
