Nice. I like how the colors go from dark to light, it looks cool from far away.

It also looks cool close up.

I think it looks awkward on the shirt.

Maybe different placement?

yeah, I don't like it smack in the middle.

maybe on the left shoulder-ish?

4 since I really like the design though.

Nice drawing, not a shirt though.

For whatever reason, this made me think of a flower chandaleer with a tree stump table underneath. Animals had a tea party. It was awesome. I think it speaks well of your drawing that it made my imagination take flight. Maybe play more with the shape and the way it fills up the shirt?

I think it'd look fantastic if the stem were right at the shoulder. Still amazing as it is, though!

Beautiful art, but I hate the center placement.

I agree with Jai Star, stem right at the shoulder. & also, make it bigger!

what attitude it has to Andromeda?

heyheyitsme on Jun 05 '07
gnomic: i don't understand your question fully...this is a floral illustration of a branch from an "Andromeda" bush. Here's a link with an example of one: http://images.acclaimimages.com/_gallery/_SM/0018-0409-1504-5714_SM.jpg

There is a constellation called Andromeda but this has no relation to it...

Hope I answered your question!

I'd like to see it on a background that contrasts a little more with the leaves.

Also, with a placement going from the shoulder diagonally.

This is gorgeous, and I was just thinking how it would be nice to have a shirt with something intricate and floral on it. The only thing I'd change would be to put it on a more vibrant color (like your previous sub with the purple and blue--that was such a good combo!). I don't want something this pretty to fade into the background. Then again, light green is one of my favorite colors, so what can I say? I like it!

Thanks everyone for all your comments so far! I agree that placement could be changed...my original version was much larger on the tee but in the critique section someone said that it was way too big, so I made it smaller:) If it was enlarged then the branch would end up more on the shoulder. As for the background color, this time I was going for a more subtle look. I'm trying to understand what people on Threadless like...personally I like bright and bold colors, but I've come to appreciate subtle combos as well. You just never know for sure "the best option" that people will like but I thank you again for all your positive comments on the design and your suggestions! Any suggestions for other background colors that would be more bold? Maybe dark green or burgundy?

i like the color, but i could also see it on a lilac . def change the placement, though. keeping it centered makes it look like the shirts my mom used to buy for me. from The Nature Company. i think left shoulder would be good... or just make the image HUGE and have it envelop the entire shirt - it's detailed enough that it just might work.

i agree, the placement on the shirt is a little off, more to the shoulder would be amazing. love the design!

I agree with the left shoulder comment. I'm not too keen on the placement in the middle. Beautiful! I have a bunch of the "Andromeda" bushes outside my window. Dark green would be good color :)

I think this is a beautifully rendered piece of art, but I don't think I like it on a shirt.

burgundy would look sharp. You don't see many shirts on that color. I"d love it. I also love that this is something natural. I've become a little weary of all the shirts that are trying to make a statement about politics, the world, etc. It is refreshing to see something I can simply enjoy for exactly what it is. I don't always need to be complicated. The image is beautiful.
