Once again, urbandictionary.com bridges the generation gap and connects me to today's youth! After finding the "Obey" link, I now get the joke.

Honestly, this strikes me as more derivative than parody. I respect that others may feel differently.

Parodies work really well on shirts as long as you twist them enough. Some of you may have not realised but threadless have already printed a parody of this logo, look for the urban camoflauge shirt. You'll notice there is the same logo, except the parody is done with Obi Wan Kenobi from starwars. The difference was the OBI logo was much smaller, and part of a larger design. This parody sort of works, but I feel by making the twist so simple, it looks quite cheap. Techincally all you have done is replace OBEY with SMILE, two words which arn't even opposite nor similar, and then added the smile, not changing the rest of the logo. In that respect the OBI parody on urban camoflauge by it's self is better than this design.

Sorry mate but you need to twist it abit more, for me this looks abit tacky. By the way there is no problem with copyright here, the image is a blatant parody.

its not a good parody if it isnt funny

How about using the word "OBI" and putting a stylized drawing of Obi Wan Kenobi. That would be more "parodic"

is that a word?

This design works best if really big or really small
and I prefer really big. I'm glad you chose big :)
