I think I would slit my wrists if GP ever amassed enough money to buy a destroyer. Great design, $5.
Bowtie
Bowtie on May 30 '07
Hmmmm... fuel guzzler?? I think i'd like it better if there were whales "manning" a huge destroyer with oversized guns pointed at smallish Japanese and Norwegian vessels (they are the two largest whale hunting nations, and both take in significant kills). Both are also increasing the number of whales they kill.
Bowtie
Bowtie on May 30 '07
Plus I am not happy with greenpeace. They are an undemocratic organisation with no responsibility or accountability to their membership (which is why I joined other environmental groups: it pays to do your homework).

Annie in Wonderland on May 30 '07
I love the illustration, and i don't think the speech bubbles are necessary. $5
Bowtie
Bowtie on May 30 '07
But on the other hand they are rather adept at putting issues onto the public stage...

Annie in Wonderland on May 30 '07
Bowtie, thats a great idea, i'd love to see a ship of whales attacking a japanese whaling ships.

wow...i really wasnt suggesting that GP save up for one of thoes nor am i supporting GP...it was just an insane idea that popped into my head after some wine

A very nice and clean illustration and funny concept. People need to stop taking it so litterally....... its a joke

Bowtie - calm down. It's a JOKE. It's supposed to be absurd.

what the heck is green peace?
Lhiiiz
Lhiiiz on May 31 '07
My feelings about greenpeace aside, the illustration of the ships is very nice and the perspective is well done.
Junk-wa
Junk-wa on May 31 '07
to mitchell90
greenpeace are esentially terrorists, they do what they feel is good for the environment, laws be damned.

but i agree with lhiiiz's view on the shirt

It reminds me of Jaws: "We're gonna need a bigger boat"

I think the text could be a bit easier to read (more contrasting colors). I like the idea!

This is a great design! Could you please change the Greenpeace ships flag, since right now it looks like they are surrendering.

I do like it. Amusing idea. And I like the whale tail in front, it's a visual "ha-ha."

honeycoo on Jun 01 '07
hehe, I wouldn't take this to seriously, and that's what most people do. Actually I am a GP friendly person, I get their magazine and so on, and I still love this shirt!! Great idea! Of course in reality this wouldn't make sense, but HECK, ITS A TSHIRT! definately buy. 5$

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really laughed loud on this one!
$5

Put some more contrasting colors! And I like the speech bubbles
And what about the destroyer turrets and cannons pointing at the whaler? =)

Smash them to bits, Greenpeacemaker!

itd be hilarious if the ship was shooting rainbows in the shirt...

i like it, but im not a fan of the bubbles
it'd be nice if the green peace insignia contrasted more with the ship

GP aren't perfect, but I do have a grudging admiration for their activism.

I'd vote 5 for this if it wasn't for the extraordinary HMAS error! The Bismarck was a German battleship that fought AGAINST the British in WWII.

Sorry for the pedantry, but that's a bad mistake.

Love the shirt, though!

JammJim on Jun 02 '07
forgot to add to my impressed comment I would buy this T-shirt too

I like the concept, but I think others have raised clever ideas to portray it differently. I don't think it needs the talk bubble either.

criz on Jun 03 '07
I DO think it's funny! For me it's the Greenpeace speaach bubble that makes the whole thing work, though, and I find the two other speech bubbles unecessary, those take the focus away from Greenpeace. 4$
Natika
Natika on Jun 03 '07
lol. The Green Peace speech bubble makes this, don't take it out!
I think criz might be right about the other two though. Maybe. Or not. I can't decide.
I'd like seeing it both ways and then people could choose between the two. :)

HA HA HA HA..... the oxymoron of greenPEACE using a battleship..... ha ha ha...
All those people who are commenting on the 'social issues' regarding this shirt are idiots... Don't listen to them wite rabbit, this design is the best I have seen in a while...keep up the good work.

...and I'm sure even greenpeace-keepers would agree. I want to buy this shirt! PRINT IT THREADLESS!!!! 5$

Greenpeace is the iconic environmental protection group and regardless of its faults, it wouldn't make sense to use any group with a lower profile.

Kill the "Eh-hem" speech bubble though. Makes the whole thing naff.
