The more I look at this design, the more uncomfortable I am with the idea of people walking around, proudly sporting torture devices on their chests. The fact that there's a joke involved kind of makes it better/worse.

hogboy on May 30 '07 Whatarebirds you're totally entitled to your opinion, I respect the fact that you have voiced it & no doubt reflected it in your score but the truth is I could grow old just trying to list the instances in pop-culture where one or more tasteless acts or activities was used as the basis for humour. Hell in the printed tshirts on threadless alone there are depictions of assault, suicide, immolation, murder, natural disaster, hanging & drowing (to name a few)that if taken out of context or viewed in a particular way could be seen as tasteless. Do I support real torture, absolutely not. Do I want to live in a world so sanitised & politically correct that we are not allowed to touch this sort of subject matter, absolutely not.... Will I apologise for or stop creating material of this nature, again, absolutely not.

Maybe if the feather was highlightd a bit more or being the only thing in color on the tee, the joke would shine through a whole lot more and calm the fears of people (myself included) who would feel uncomfortable if people did get the joke and thought i was walking around with torture devices on me. Great drawing tho and i like the text on the back...the german accent would be a good addition too.

I agree with BoscoJones43, post germanifying the words and/or highlighting the feather. And I think I'd be in the minority, but I'd actually prefer ink to foil for this one. Or better yet, ink with foil only for the sharp and pointy bits...

I would love it if it was just the feather and the text. The rest of the tools make it suddenly all "I'm trying to be hardcore," which just comes off weak.

I'd like it more if the text were on the front--not switched, just on the front as well--but otherwise I think it's great. I don't think the humor needs to be ramped up any further, either.
And by the way.... If anyone thinks a feather can't be used as a torture device, you're dead wrong. |

yeah the feather being in the bottom right corner doesn't help to allay the fear of this tee, esp when you have issues with add like i do. perhaps more of a balance with the silly things and the pointy things and it won't seem so over the top.
