she's beautiful.
but i wouldn't wear it.
i see others wearing it but not me.

The poofs on her wrists detract, I think. Nicer with just one large poof on her butt as a tail.

^I agree with Stellaluna...

Ew. I don't like it.

I guess it has a certain 70s kitsch value, but generally I wouldn't want to wear a glitzy bunny girl on my shirt.

And the size of her breasts compared to her torso is absurd.

Love the design, but not as a t-shirt.

AWWWWWE! This is beautiful
ohyoustealher
ohyoustealher on May 17 '07
I kind of like it, but you're going over seams at the sleeve, so the placement is a no-go. Also I don't think the breast/waist proportion is a problem. I carry my weight lower so I have a big chest, not quite as big waist and then big umm.. something between waist and hips. Point is it does happen in real life
13strong
13strong on May 17 '07
Not like that it doesn't. Unless she's a habitual corset wearer.
ohyoustealher
ohyoustealher on May 17 '07
If only you could meet my friend Kristen.. and I can't say that she's ever worn a corset
13strong
13strong on May 17 '07
You may be right on this - sorry for being arrogant. But I do find the proportions a little unrealistic, based on experience.

Also, I'm tired of seeing big breasted, skinny waisted nymphs on t-shirts. Would be nice to see some variety.

Very nice concept.

   wullagaru on May 17 '07
13strong if you notice her torso starts dissapearing right after teh breastular area so we dont really know what her proportions would be ..now Im not saying that she isnt well endowed but it could be more realistc than what is shown here

and in all honesty as far as seeing teh diversity .. dude sexy sells ...not sexy doesnt sell as well
13strong
13strong on May 17 '07
And so you're saying that anything but huge breasts and tiny waist isn't sexy?

Thanks for proving my point.
wullagaru
   wullagaru on May 17 '07
no i wasnt saying that at all but thats what society recognizes as sexy so it WILL sell better take a look at lingere sellers who do they use as models .. the ones that show it off the best. I happen to think that almost any one can be sexy if they try but mainstream society and teh public in general has a narrower view and thats who were trying to get to buy teh shirts .. granted I dont think that this particular example is really what threadless is looking for but Ill bet it would do well in other venues
wullagaru
   wullagaru on May 17 '07
i understand you have ideals and thoughts but be realistic
13strong
13strong on May 17 '07
I am being realistic, I'm just not willing to accept the status quo. Nothing wrong with that.

First, if more people designed and wore t-shirts that portrayed a variety of different female body shapes as sexy, then it would go some way towards altering people's ideas of what is sexy. The same goes for lingerie sellers, clothes designers, the media, pop music, etc etc etc

What you're suggesting is a vicious cycle - the more we refuse to take risks for capital gain, the more the sexist status quo will be perpetuated. I think somewhere like Threadless is the perfect place to disrupt that vicious cycle: it caters to an alternative crowd of predominantly young consumers. Because they are young and "alternative", they should be more willing to buck the trend. I'd say the consumers are probably about 50/50 split of men and women, and I imagine that a lot of women would like to see more variety in body shape as well.

I think that's realistic.

feandora on May 17 '07
It's art. it doesn't have to be realistic. I find women with large breasts and small waists to be mmore pleasing to look at then a huge gut with tiny boobs. I am a girl and and I'm straight, but I still would rather see a hot girl on a shirt then an out os shape one. My concern is that it is derived from a photo tracing. That's what it looks like to me, as opposed to original art. Just speculating there...
13strong
13strong on May 17 '07
Hmm. So if you're not a 34 DD with a tiny waist then you're out of shape? Again the assumption that women who don't conform to those proportions are not hot.
mezo
   mezo on May 17 '07
That girl has back problems.

The drawing started out great, like in the face and wisps of hair. Then it gradually got terrible. Especially ending with those funky bulbous, beige-colored things. They look like herpes complex. 3

beautiful illlustration, but i think pop culture has already road the playboy boy to death, so maybe some more original subject matter with your style could be a winner.
lovelyplayfello
lovelyplayfello on May 18 '07
it's never "just a shirt"-- it's pop culture boys and girls, so it is free game for critique. a representation of something, ie a woman's body is no less meaningful because it is on a t-shirt.
*High five* 13strong for speaking your mind.
futtini
futtini on May 18 '07
Dude, 13strong stopped his critique about 1500 posts ago. He went on a rant about his specific interpretation of beauty.

Design is beauty for the masses, even in a niche market like this
you still have to design with an audience in mind not one persons particular ideal. I'm sorry 13strong but you're 'feelings'
are inneffective as a critique. You're not saying anything about
the images construction that's useful to a DESIGNER, i.e. Choice of color, position on the plane(shirt), compostion, contrast, alignment, radiation, etc.

Those are the F&*ing things that should be discussed if you say 'it doesn't work for you'. Tell the artist how they don't work, and suggest corrections, that's what a critique is.
(Batness, Ohyoustealher are being constructive!)

and lovelywhatever, just because clothing happens to part
of pop culture doesn't mean people can start spouting bullshit
and expect an informative response in return.

In short, you two need to get your collective big heads out of your @$$es.

yes and no. the cuffs on the wrist are a bit overboard. look better with one as a tail. also placement should stay on the side, but more towards the bottom of the shirt. a 3

I think maybe if she was moved down somewhere on the shirt. Or even faded just a bit. I think she comes off pretty strong. But other wise its a great design!

highly detailed, i would prefer something with the same shape but more abstract. but if you must go with detail use the entire surface area of the shirt. good work though

I love her face and her body.. If I wanted realistic women on my shirt, I could put a picture of myself there :D..
I would wear such a shirt, but I would like it a thousand times more without the bunny ears, but just a twenties style hat

I really don't like the bunny ears. =[ I would want the shirt if the ears were not there.

love the design. truly awesome.
the thing is, i don't see that many guys wearing it. or girls.
you know what i mean?
like her bosom makes it almost sexual, which might turn girls away,
and her bunny ears might turn guys away...
i obviously can't speak for entire genders, its just something maybe to take into consideration.
good luck!

i like your style, and your use of colour- but i'm getting over the objectifying of women, over it; sick of it; getting really annoyed by it etc. your designs are beautifully illustrated- but please, have a design that says something- or if you have to objectify someone, give us girls a shirt so we can retaliate- i'm not one for radical-let's-kill-off-all-the-men feminism, i'm asking for some equality. and before someone misinterprets me: I'm not saying that all feminists are lesbians who don't shave their legs and hate men (the girls who go to the feminist club at my school- of which i am one- get branded as this all the time. grr) I'm saying that the ones that push for dominance over men are stupid, and making feminists who want equality of the sexes look bad; not as bad as raunch culture, but still pretty bad.
Anyhow- this turned into a rant. oops.
so yeah.
erm....
great style- not so much love for design.
